Sedation Dentistry

Does going to the dentist frighten you? Has it been five, ten, fifteen, even twenty years since you last had any dental treatment? Would you appreciate being completely relaxed, having all your dental needs taken care of in perhaps one appointment... and afterwards remember very little about your visit? If you answered yes to any of these questions, WE can help.

Fortunately, going to the dentist no longer has to be a frightening journey. Drs. Baus, Dr. Murphy, and our dental team wish to help you through the clouds of fear that have been keeping you from attaining the goal of a healthy mouth. We have certified D.O.C.S. training, and have been practicing sedation dentistry in our office for over ten years.

For people who have a high level of fear at the mere thought of a visit to a dentist, just making the first call to schedule an appointment is a very difficult challenge. We want to congratulate you for just taking that first step in learning and exploring about how to feel great about your own mouth.

What is Sedation Dentistry?

Many patients find being able to relax deeply the key to regular dental visits and good conscious health. This level of comfort is called conscious sedation: you breathe, swallow, and are in control. However, all of your anxieties about dental care are removed. You are able to respond when the dentist asks questions and you remain aware of your surroundings. The amazing thing is that most people remember very little about their actual visit, except that all of their work was performed in one appointment.

You are evaluated on an individual approach to allow Drs. Baus or Dr. Murphy to decide what sedation method is most appropriate for you. This includes putting crushed pills under your tongue all while we monitor your vital signs to confirm you are safely relaxed.  No IVs.  It is that easy.

You are not alone! Over 100 million Americans experience some form of fear or anxiety about going to the dentist. Please contact us at (920) 849.9341 for a complementary sedation dentistry consultation.
