What is Sedation Dentistry?

Many patients find being able to relax deeply the key to regular dental visits and good conscious health. This level of comfort is called conscious sedation: you breathe, swallow, and are in control. However, all of your anxieties about dental care are removed. You are able to respond when the dentist asks questions and you remain aware of your surroundings. The amazing thing is that most people remember very little about their actual visit, except that all of their work was performed in one appointment.

You are evaluated on an individual approach to allow Dr. Mariah and Dr. Lara to decide what sedation method is most appropriate for you. This includes putting crushed pills under your tongue all while we monitor your vital signs to confirm you are safely relaxed. No IVs. It is that easy.

Personal testimonials of our patients and why they feel so good about our dental team:

"The procedure went well and was over before I knew it. The staff was wonderful and supportive of my fear of having dental work done. They followed up to make sure all went well, and that I was feeling good the day after. Would not hesitate to do the same if any amount of work had to be done again." Pam H.

"I felt very good about my dental visit because Dr. Murphy explained everything in detail. I took the pill an hour before my appointment and felt very relaxed when I went to my appointment. My procedure took a few hours and it seemed like a half hour. She and her staff were very helpful in explaining everything. I would suggest it to anyone who worries about having a dental procedure done." Nancy L.

"I feel so good about Dr. Baus because with sedation dentistry a four hour dentist appointment was a breeze." John D.
